Serving the growing psychiatric care needs of the Central Valley, Community Behavioral Health Center is a 73-bed facility that provides voluntary and involuntary psychiatric assessments, adult care, recreation therapy, group and individual therapy, and more. Behavioral Health supports our patient care continuum including Primary Care, Outpatient Care, Emergency Department, Inpatient, Acute Care Psychiatric and Population Health.
Responsibilities
The Supervisor of Therapeutic Services for Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) assists the Manager in planning, organizing, and directing ancillary Services. This position supervises the Social Workers, MSW/MFT Interns, Recreation Therapists, and assigned staff and is responsible for the day-to-day patient care operations as well as team support. Responsible for conflict management, negotiation, team building, communication, budget administration, and coaching/mentoring others. Directs patient assignments, staff scheduling, evaluations, patient flow, and contributes in meeting financial targets by effectively assisting in managing utilization, productivity, personnel, and supplies. Accountabilities 1. Ensures continuity of quality patient care by planning daily staff assignments at CBHC through evaluation of census, patient acuity, and staff competency.2. Facilitates effective communication between hospital staff, medical staff, and management.3. Provides support and leadership guidance to develop roles, organize, coordinate, and evaluate ongoing ancillary services within CBHC.4. Acts as a liaison for daily interdepartmental staffing and patient flow/work issues including evaluating outcomes, providing feedback, and developing improvement strategies.5. Assists Manager and Director with the development, implementation, and evaluation of department goals, policies, procedures, and standards of care which contribute to the achievement of departmental objectives.6. Assesses staff development needs and provides opportunities for ongoing education and professional development of staff members.7. Provides clinical supervision to all assigned staff members who are pursuing professional licensure as LCSW or LMFT.8. Attends education seminars as staffing allows, and reports education gained to all staff and leadership.9. Collaborates with university departments of Social Work and Marriage Family Therapy regarding student internship opportunities.10. Oversees provision of therapeutic services through individual, family, and group sessions.11. Reviews documentation for completeness and timeliness, and provides feedback to staff regarding quality of entries in the medical record.12. Directly responsible (with support from Human Resources) for employee engagement and people management processes including interviewing and selection, time and attendance approval, providing timely feedback and performance evaluations, employee development, employee retention, disciplinary actions and terminations.13. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Qualifications
Education• Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) or Marriage Family Therapy (MFT) required
Experience• 3 years of relevant experience in the healthcare industry or healthcare setting required• 1 year of experience in a supervisory role preferred
Licenses and Certifications• BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required• One of the following is requiredo LCSW - State of California Licensed Clinical Social Workero LMFT - Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
