The salary for this position is $100,783 to $147,815, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
The Assistant Manager of Aircraft Maintenance Operations is responsible for the oversight of daily operations (operational, administrative, and technical areas) to ensure the highest level of product delivery and ensuring compliance with applicable FAA requirements and Company guidelines. They are responsible for supervising and coordinating all maintenance activities on a shift/s at an assigned location/s. In addition, the are encouraged to mentor and develop supervisors and frontline employees and role modeling of United’s Leadership expectations and Core 4 (safe, caring, dependable, efficient).
- Supervise and coordinate all maintenance functions on shift at the assigned location, ensuring these activities are performed safely, in compliance with all established Company, Regulatory and manufacturers procedures, and meets scheduled commitments
- Complete station performance goals and objectives aligning with divisional and company goals
- Ensure regulatory compliance of Technical Operations activities to achieve maximum efficiency and cost control
- Track and analyze department performance
- Identify issues and engage in structured problem-solving to assist front-line co-workers in accomplishing work
- Actively involved in next shift preparation and the success of the station plan
- Backfill for shift manager when needed
- Set expectations regarding performance standards for supervisors and technicians and gain their dedication under company guidelines and CBA (if applicable)
- Lead by example, acknowledge and take ownership for personal and team performance
- Provide important feedback, mentoring current and new supervisors to improve overall skills and proficiencies
- Actively recognize your team or individual’s performance by using UA recognition tools (i.e. Bravo, UA100)
- Facilitate in-person training and/or presentations as required
- Consistently involved in station projects and/or extra activities to improve, meet or exceed departmental goals
- Organize /track projects to improve change management and increase successful implementation
- Assist with career action planning, goal setting and employee development including but not limited to assisting Manager/Director (if applicable) with mid-year & end-year performance reviews of Supervisors
- Support investigations (as appropriate) into performance, safety, complaints, and other work-related issues
- Provide supervisors and technicians with guidance, leadership, direction, coaching, feedback, and recognition as appropriate
- Maintain regular and prompt communication, including attending local meetings, town halls, RAP sessions, e-mail/voicemail follow-up, and incident reports
- Active participant in the Safety Action Team
- Supervise the safety and security of aircraft and operations to ensure compliance with Technical Operations activities

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience (Electronic, mechanical, or related field)
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant License
- Minimum two years’ experience in a Supervisory role
- Knowledge of Technical Operations policies and procedures
- Extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance operations and applicable FAA regulations, where applicable
- Valid driver's license
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

- Lean Six Sigma Certified Green Belt or Black Belt
- FCC General Radio Telephone License
- Experience supervising a unionized workforce in Technical Operations division
- Proficient in scheduling, ETA and performance management system to support front line employees, and colleagues
- Strong written and oral communication
- Strong skills in conflict resolution and decision-making
- Proficient in appropriate work group and office productivity software
- Principles of project management
