Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical System Maintenance & Repair
- Plan, layout, install, test, and repair electrical systems, electronic components, and industrial machinery.
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and make repairs in compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes.
- Provide technical assistance and training to machine operators and maintenance mechanics.
2. Industrial Wiring & Equipment Installation
- Perform industrial wiring, including hardware installation, circuit testing, and equipment modification.
- Work with a variety of systems, including 480/240/120V and low-voltage AC/DC systems.
- Install and repair electrical equipment according to plant requirements and the National Electrical Code.
3. System Programming & Documentation
- Program and troubleshoot programmable controllers (PLC), GE Ifix Historian, and GE Proficy software.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for all electrical programs and systems.
- Assist in developing programs for control systems and equipment automation.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Develop and follow validation, maintenance, and calibration procedures to meet documentation and compliance standards.
- Act as a first responder in emergency situations, and participate in safety training, including HAZWOPR and LOTO protocols.
5. Project Coordination & Vendor Communication
- Coordinate with contractors and internal teams on electrical projects, providing cost estimates and overseeing project safety.
- Communicate with vendors for the purchase of repair parts and materials, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance.
Key Qualifications
- Experience: 2-4 years of industrial plant wiring experience, including work with 480/240/120V, three-phase power distribution, motor circuits, and programmable controllers.
- Licensing: Must possess a valid General Supervising Electrician license (or be able to obtain one in less than 3 months). Candidates relocating will be provided with licensing assistance upon negotiation.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with specialized training in electrical/electronics highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in industrial wiring, electrical troubleshooting, and control system programming. Experience with programmable controllers and compliance with cGMP/FDA regulations is a plus.
- Tools: Must supply personal hand tools.
- Availability: Must be willing to work varied shifts, including nights and rotating schedules, and be on-call for emergency repairs.
Relocation Package
A competitive relocation package and licensing assistance are available for qualified candidates. Terms will be discussed during the interview process.
Supervision & Training
- Works under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager.
- Provides guidance to electrical contractors, apprentices, and lower-level maintenance staff as needed.
