Superintendent

As a Construction Superintendent, you will oversee all aspects of on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will be responsible for managing subcontractors, coordinating with various stakeholders, and implementing project plans to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed construction plans and schedules.
• Ensure project milestones and deadlines are met by effectively coordinating resources and activities.
• Monitor progress against the schedule and adjust plans as necessary to meet project goals.
• Coordinate with owner’s rep, project managers, foreman, craft labor, and subcontractors to solve field problems.
• Use and understand survey equipment to establish and maintain vertical and horizontal control throughout construction.
• Understand and participate as an active member of health and safety program.
• Ensure project and activities are completed in accordance with project specifications and plans.
• Able to manage both labor and equipment resources to ensure projects stay on schedule and under budget.
• Respectfully and effectively communicate with owner representatives, inspectors, architects, engineers and subcontractors.
• Supervise and perform duties and operation of tools of the trade in strict compliance with OSHA rules.
• Conduct safety meetings and perform JHA’s when needed.
• Strong communication skills.
• Required onsite presence during construction activities.
• Additional duties as assigned.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure workmanship and materials meet project specifications and quality standards.
• Monitor project costs and expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies without compromising quality or safety.
• Facilitate regular progress meetings and provide updates on project status, milestones, and issues.
• Maintain accurate records of all construction activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field (preferred).
• Proven experience as a construction superintendent or similar role in the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and environments.
• OSHA 30-hour certification (preferred).

Required Experience

• Min 10-15 years of superintendent Experience on Government Construction projects
• Must possess and maintain current driver’s license.
• Must have a punctual work history.
• Must have a high school diploma or Equivalent
• First Aid Certification
• OSHA-10 Certification
