Being upfront - some night shift work
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all night shift operations of municipal construction projects, ensuring projects are completed according to plans and specifications.
- Coordinate and supervise the work of all construction activities and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Ensure safety regulations are followed at all times, promoting a culture of safety among crew members.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to plan, organize, and direct activities concerning construction projects.
- Prepare and submit progress reports, schedule updates, and cost tracking reports.
- Identify potential construction problems or delays and proactively provide solutions.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with building and safety codes.
- Manage and resolve any conflicts or disputes that arise during the construction process.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site, ensuring all equipment and materials are properly stored and secured.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Superintendent or similar role in the construction industry, preferably with a general contractor.
- Proven experience managing commercial projects, specifically municipal work.
- Familiarity with mid-rise construction projects is preferred.
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.
- Strong understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
- Proficient in construction management software.
- In-depth knowledge of construction safety regulations and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be capable of physical labor and operating various types of construction equipment.
