We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Superintendent to join our team in the Construction industry. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated professional who has a go-getter attitude and who is excited to handle the responsibilities of overseeing construction projects from beginning to end. The successful candidate will not only have a solid construction background but also bring a strategic mindset and vision to our team. This role requires 5+ years of experience in the construction industry with a focus on Subcontractor Management, Scheduling, Budgeting, Cost Control, Quality Control, and public works experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all aspects of construction project from planning to implementation.
2. Allocate resources for assigned projects.
3. Supervise onsite functions (scheduling, engineering, material control, and may provide day-to-day direction of onsite administrative staff in accounting, purchasing, etc.)
4. Schedule pre-construction site visits of all jobs that are under construction.
5. Coordinate and supervise all construction activities.
6. Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
7. Manage project budget and schedule updates.
8. Prepare, schedule and supervise completion of a final punch list.
9. Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices and rectify job site hazards immediately.
10. Ensure all installations meet quality and electrical code standards.
11. Manage site pre-construction including pre-construction survey, job site utilization and staging plans.
12. Mentor and train Project Engineers for fast-paced growth.
13. Communicate with homeowners and trades onsite to ensure correct construction process.
Qualifications:
1. 5+ years of experience in the construction industry with a commercial and/or civil engineering focus.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field is preferred.
3. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes and equipment.
4. Must have Subcontractor Management, Scheduling, Budgeting, Cost Control, Quality Control, and public works experience.
5. Ability to plan and see the “big picture”.
6. Excellent communication, leadership and negotiation skills.
7. Competent in conflict and crisis management.
8. Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
9. Able to multitask with a strong understanding of core manager duties.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of staff.
11. Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
12. Must have a valid driver’s license.
