We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Permanent Superintendent to join our dynamic and rapidly growing Construction team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys the complexities and challenges of large commercial construction projects. As a Permanent Superintendent, you will oversee the operations on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that work is done safely, on time, and within budget and to the right quality standards. You will also play a vital role in maintaining positive relationships with our clients, contractors, and all other stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the construction project from planning to implementation, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Review and interpret project blueprints, plans, and specifications to determine the construction schedule, procedures, materials, and manpower needs.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with local building codes and safety laws, including OSHA regulations.
- Use AutoCAD and BlueBeam software to prepare, review, and maintain construction schedules, estimates, and cost-control systems.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and adherence to standards and protocols.
- Implement and manage quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) programs.
- Resolve any problems that may arise and make necessary decisions throughout the construction process.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to and enforcing safety codes.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent or in a similar role in the construction industry, with a focus on large commercial projects.
- A 2-4 year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, OSHA guidelines, and building codes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, BlueBeam, and other construction management software.
- Exceptional knowledge of construction QA/QC procedures, safety management, and scheduling.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to direct and manage personnel and subcontractors.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain positive relationships with team members, contractors, and clients.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
- Proven track record of managing and completing projects on time and within budget.
- Must have OSHA 30 certification.
