Responsibilities:Location: Glendale, CA (This is a 100% onsite position)

Position Type: Salary + Bonus.
Compensation: $70,000 - $75,000
Title: Golf Superintendent
Job Purpose
The golf course Superintendent is responsible for the construction maintenance and repair of the greens, trees, and plants throughout their assigned golf course. Working closely with the maintenance staff, Superintendents ensure application of fertilizers and pesticides meet all local, state, and federal environmental regulations. The Superintendent must keep accurate records of their activities to convey appropriately to managers, members, and guests.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the golf course in proper playing condition according to Company standards
- Supervise course construction projects and all planting and care of turf, plants, shrubs, and trees
- Work cloesly with Operational Team to develop and propose a yearly maintenance plan and budget for the golf course. Implement the approved maintenance plan and adhere to the budget
- Direct and supervise the maintenance of greens, fairways, tees, sand traps, bodies of water, roughs, maintenance shop and grounds, cart maintenance, and clubhouse maintenance
- Create a high-performance team of co-workers while maintaining a positive, safe, challenging, enjoyable work environment
- Recruit, train, develop, and manage staff. Responsible for co-worker satisfaction
- Identify and address safety issues immediately
- Conduct monthly safety meeting/training with maintenance staff and record attendance. Complete safety audit to ensure all issues are addressed
- Establish and implement a maintenance program for appropriate equipment, tools, vehicles, etc.
- Implement and monitor the purchase ordering and receiving program to maintain proper inventories of supplies and ensure proper quantity and price on all purchases
- Maintain accurate records to track labor costs, maintenance expenses, construction activities, equipment repair, OSHA safety activities, and fertilizer, chemical, and pest control practices within city, parish, state and federal guidelines
- Plan and implement staffing schedules to ensure quality standards are achieved
- Supervise and perform equipment repair and maintenance
- Participate in weekly Department Head meetings
- Supervise and perform irrigation scheduling and repairs
- Assist in maintaining security of golf course property and buildings
- Maintain course character consistent with the rules of golf and maintenance standards
- Solve technical problems of the golf course maintenance
- Identify, implement, and approve capital improvements
- Maintain golf course grounds in an environmentally sensitive way
- Promote and follow all current and future company and course policies and rules
- Other duties may be assigned by management
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- State pesticide license is required
- GCSAA Certification is preferred
- Valid driver’s license is required
Education
- 2- year college degree required (4-Year bachelor’s degree preferred) and 3 years of related experience in turf management, agronomy, chemical applications, soils, fertilization, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Working Conditions
- Days and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs
- Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required
- Special working conditions include but are not limited to a range of circumstances such as sitting or standing for periods of time
