Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 annually

We are seeking a Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee daily construction operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with strong organizational and communication skills and a deep understanding of commercial and industrial construction.
Initial construction projects will be new railroad transload facilities which include civil, rough utilities, railroad, pre-engineered metal buildings, office buildout, MEP and site improvement construction ready for the installation of unloading and loading systems & equipment, on undeveloped lots from 5-50 acres.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight & Execution
- Direct and manage all aspects of commercial construction projects, including scheduling, labor, materials, and subcontractors.
- Ensure projects comply with FRA regulations, industry standards, and customer requirements.
- Coordinate and oversee site logistics, inspections, and subcontractor performance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site while enforcing company safety standards.
- Conduct final inspections and quality assurance reviews before project completion.
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a zero-incident safety culture by enforcing company and industry safety protocols.
- Conduct daily safety briefings, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and site inspections.
- Ensure all PPE requirements are met and adhered to by employees and subcontractors.
- Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions are identified.
- Report and document all safety incidents immediately using Procore.
Quality Control & Cost Management
- Maintain strict quality control measures to ensure projects meet specifications and client expectations.
- Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Obtain competitive quotes for materials, equipment, and subcontracted services to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Secure written client approval before initiating additional work outside the original scope.
- Accurately record and review daily logs, time tracking, equipment usage, and project progress in Procore.
Planning, Scheduling & Communication
- Develop and implement detailed project schedules that coordinate labor, materials, and equipment efficiently.
- Lead weekly planning meetings to review upcoming project needs and address potential challenges.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
- Ensure timely and transparent communication regarding project status, risks, and necessary adjustments.
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide strong on-site leadership, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Support workforce development by mentoring and training field staff.
- Encourage accountability and performance excellence across all project team members.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial or industrial construction.
- Strong understanding of civil, structural, and mechanical construction.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, contracts, and specifications.
- Knowledge of OSHA, FRA regulations, and other safety compliance standards.
- Experience with construction management software (ProCore preferred).
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Ability to travel as required (up to 70% fieldwork, 30% office work).
