Construction Superintendent – Commercial Projects
Overview: This company is a well-respected general contractor with a rich history of delivering quality products focused mostly in the ground-up commercial construction space. The Superintendent will be a pivotal on-site leader responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of construction projects. This role requires a strong, independent leader capable of operating with minimal supervision while ensuring that all project components are executed to the highest standards of quality and safety. While it is critical to execute initiative in the field, it is equally critical to communicate and connect on all project details. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in managing various commercial construction types and will align with company values of collaboration, integrity, and excellence.
Superintendent Responsibilities:

Project Management: Direct and supervise daily construction activities, ensuring all tasks are completed in accordance with project specifications, plans, and safety regulations. Oversee scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation to meet project goals.

Leadership: Lead and inspire a diverse team of field staff, subcontractors, and vendors. Foster a collaborative environment where open communication and teamwork are prioritized. Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional growth.

Quality Control: Implement and enforce rigorous quality control procedures. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work meets or exceeds industry standards and project requirements. Address any discrepancies or deficiencies promptly.

Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and project managers. Provide clear and timely updates on project progress, address concerns, and facilitate effective communication among all parties involved.

Problem-Solving: Proactively identify potential issues or obstacles that could impact project timelines or quality. Develop and implement effective solutions to mitigate risks and keep the project on track.

Safety Compliance: Ensure that all safety protocols and regulations are strictly adhered to on-site. Conduct safety meetings, enforce safety practices, and address any safety concerns to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of project progress, including daily logs, incident reports, and project documentation.

Client and Community Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, local communities, and regulatory agencies. Represent the company professionally and uphold our reputation for integrity and quality.
Superintendent Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent in ground-up commercial projects. Proven track record in managing a variety of project types.

Education: A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required. Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, PMP) are a plus.

Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities. Demonstrated proficiency in project management software and construction processes.

Superintendent Compensation and Benefits: Competitive salary commensurate with experience, ranging from $85,000 to $150,000. Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan and company match, and paid time off.
