About the Job
Neshaminy School District has the following positions available in the Summer Stock Program. If you are interested in applying for a position in the summer stock program please send an email directly to me kkozik@neshaminy.org indicating the position that you are interested in and some background information providing your background in the area of your application. The position will take place the end of June through end of July. However, there will be informational meetings to attend in April/May. Specific meeting and show dates will be provided shortly.

TB test results:
If your work involves 10 or more hours per week in direct contact with children, you must be tested for tuberculosis and show documentation that you are free from tuberculosis before serving as a volunteer. This test can be completed by your family physician or at a qualified clinic (such as those found at some pharmacies), and will be at the volunteer's expense. TB tests generally take 3-4 days to complete. Provide a copy of the documentation from the test facility upon completion of the test. This will be uploaded to App Garden along with clearances.
POSITIONS LISTED BELOW:
Main Stage Drama Director: Stipend $3300
- Select in coordination with Directorial team and Coordinator the show selection
- Meet with Set Director and discuss set design and set needs
- Design the set for building, set pieces, painting and decorations
- Meet with lighting and sound director on needs for the show
- Develop a lighting and sound vision in cooperations with Sound and Lighting Director
- Meet with Main Stage team to discuss show and direction of show
- Organize all audition materials and plan out auditions and call backs
- Final casting for the show is the discretion of the Director
- Attend/plan all pre-production meetings and parent meetings
- Meet with Coordinator on a regular basis to discuss show progression and needs
- Participate in staffing of positions for the show
- Plan and execute all blocking, choreography, music and staging
- Coordinate with the Music Director on music needs.
- Meet with choreographers to discuss show and what is needed. Plan subsequent meetings to review choreography. All choreography should be approved by Director
- Develop a daily plan for regular and after hours in coordination with all staff
- Attend all weekend and evening rehearsals
- Work in small and large groups for character development
- Communicate with parents/guardians when needed
- Clerical work as needed
- Communicate using the Remind app
- Final decisions will be made by the Director
Creative Operations Director to Main Stage: Stipend $3300
- Training Showcase Director
- Mentoring transition of Director to Showcase
- Collaborate with Main Stage Director on creative vision for the show
- Work with sound and lightening technicians
- Prepares blocking, music, choreographer and staging
- Collaborates with Set Director on all sets and stage spiking
- Works with students to develop characters for each show
- Oversees sets and prop development
- Meet with choreography team and Director
- Participate in show selections
- Supervision of casts
- Collaborate with costumer on all show costumes
- Communicate with Coordinator of Summer Fine Arts and Show Directors
Main Stage Music Director: Stipend $3300
- Director of all musical aspects of production
- Teach and rehearse new music
- Prepare audition materials and attend student auditions
- Vocal coaching
- Assist director in artistic decision
- Accompany when needed
- Oversee and direct accompanist
- Arrange music for the pit orchestra
- Choose a pit orchestra and maintain contact with those members
- Rehearse and organize pit orchestra, set-up and breakdown of the pit and other musically related equipment
Required Skills:
Vocal pedagogy ability, ability to demonstrate vocally, piano and accompaniment skills, ability to arrange music when needed, able to lead large groups of musicians in musical activities, knowledge of instrumental pedagogy (wind and strings),
Showcase Director: Stipend $3300
- Select in coordination with Directorial team and Coordinator the show selection
- Write the show in coordination with the Showcase staff
- Creates plans and blocking for the Showcase Production.
- Develop a daily plan for regular and after hours in coordination with all staff
- Attend all weekend and evening rehearsals
- Work in small and large groups for character development
- Meet with the directorial team prior to the start of Summer Stock.
- Prepare audition materials and organize auditions prior to start of Stock
- Cast the Showcase in coordination with the Assistant Director and Choreographer.
- Designs lighting and sound with Light and Sound Director for the Showcase Production.
- Selects and/or creates music tracks for the Showcase Production.
- Collaborates with the choreographer to create dance and choreography. Approve all choreography prior to Stock beginning
- Meet with the Set Director on set design and set needs
- Facilitates the design and finishing of the Showcase set including paint, decoration, and additional set pieces.
- Delegates aspects of the production (such as incentives/rewards, snack, costuming, etc.) to assistant directors and other Showcase support.
- Communicates with parents and family regarding the daily schedule, costuming, rehearsal expectations, and any other pertinent information.
- Clerical work as needed
- Communicate using the Remind app
- Final decisions will be made by the Director
Main Stage Choreographer: Stipend $3300
- Collaborate with Main Stage Directors on creative vision of the show
- Develop choreography for the show theme
- Prepare choreography prior to start of Stock and have Director approval
- Prepare dance audition materials/video tutorials
- Attend auditions
- Teach all choreography to the cast
- Attend after hour sessions and all evening and weekend rehearsals
- Collaborate with Costumer that costumes will be appropriate for the dances
Main Stage Accompanist: Stipend $3300
- Collaborate with the Music Director on show selection materials
- Attend audition practices and auditions
- Prepare all music required prior to the start of Summer Stock
- Attend all rehearsals, including, after hours, evenings and weekends
- Play in the pit for the show
- Assist with vocal coaching as directed by the music director
Assistant Choreographer/Mainstage: Stipend $3300
- Collaborate with the Main Stage choreographer
- Learn all dances for the show
- Teach large and small groups of the cast
- Be adept in all forms of dance
- Attend all rehearsals, including, after hours, evenings and weekends
- Attend audition practices and auditions
- Collaborate on video tutorials for cast review
Workshop Assistant Director: Stipend $1650
- Collaborate with Workshop Director on creative vision for the show
- Assist Director with blocking, staging and calling of the show
- Communicate with the Music Director daily
- Script work with small and large groups of cast members
- Attend all rehearsals, including, after hours, evenings and weekends
- Attend audition practices and auditions
- Collaborate on video tutorials for cast review
- Assist with costuming and set design
Assistant Technical Director: Sound and Lighting: Stipend $1650
- Coordinate with Sound and Lighting Director for all 3 shows
- Assist with all lighting, visuals, and sound requirements for all 3 shows
- Rigging lighting for visuals
- Run cabling
- Be able to lift 60 pounds and work comfortably on lift equipment and ladders
- Must be experienced with all aspects of sound and lighting
- Must attend all required tech rehearsals as well as dress rehearsals and shows.
