Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age and have completed one year of college.

Hold current certification in both first aid and CPR. Training provided.

Must have prior experience working with children.

Must have Auto Belay Climbing Wall certification Levels 1 and 2. (Training  and Certificate provided)

Experience with Rock Climbing activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Plan and conduct enriching, age-appropriate activities that boost camper self-esteem and success, ensuring they meet camp goals and teach your specialty.

Set a positive example through punctuality, dress, language, and behavior.

Maintain and safely store equipment, and complete weekly activity planning sheets, subject to Program Director approval.

Actively participate in staff meetings, evening programs, and camp activities.

Mentor junior staff (under 18 years old), assist in camp setup and breakdown and ensure safe camp operations for all participants. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Communicate and work effectively with diverse age and skill groups, providing clear instruction and safety training.

Monitor camper behavior, manage safety, and respond to environmental hazards.

Handle emergencies, including administering first aid.

Working Conditions

Extended periods of standing or walking may be required.

Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Must lift equipment/supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.

Ability to bend and reach to interact with children.

No hazardous or unpleasant conditions. 

Strong cognitive and communication skills to supervise and manage students during play.
