We’re seeking a highly motivated Engineering Intern to join our team at our Murrysville, PA corporate office.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Engineering Intern to join our Facilities Management Team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in construction project management, facility operations, and architectural/engineering design practices. The successful candidate will assist with various aspects of planned and unplanned facilities maintenance and repair, support project planning and execution, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct facility/project visits to observe construction/repair/maintenance progress, perform various inspections, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Support facility maintenance efforts by gathering information related to issues or challenges brought to the team's attention, performing routine inspections, and supporting current and future preventive maintenance programs.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors to establish clear and aligned scopes of work, resolve technical challenges, and ensure project milestones and budgets are met.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate project and facility-related status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong academic background or experience in building systems, construction methods, OSHA regulations, and project management.
- Proficiency in technology tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and project management tools such as Procore and Newforma.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team and corporate/executive level environment.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for problem-solving and continuous learning.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in construction, facilities management, or a related field is a plus.
- Reliable transportation is required for site visits and travel to project and facility locations throughout the territory.
