About the Internship
The Payroll Accounting internship will provide students the opportunity to work with knowledgeable and experienced professionals on assignments related to the student’s major. These assignments will include hands-on Accounting and Finance related projects to cultivate technical, writing, communication and team-building skills.
In addition to challenging, meaningful work assignments interns routinely enjoy networking sessions and tours of our various facilities during their internship experience. Interns are also provided with guidance on career opportunities to make the most of their Port Authority experience.
Responsibilities
+ Review, organize and scan payroll documents that pertain to separated employee payments, special payment requests and petty cash.
+ Assist in the production of payrolls including query and spreadsheet analysis of calculated and confirmed payroll data.
+ Maintain logs and reports for petty cash and time & labor summary reports.
+ Verify time & labor summary reports and perform audits to ensure that reports are received timely and properly approved.
+ Assist with the analysis and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
+ Assist with special projects as time permits.
+ Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions
Minimum Qualifications
+ Enrollment at a college/university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester
Desired Qualifications
+ Strong analytical skills in reconciling financial information
+ Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
Internship Details
+ The start date will be Thursday, May 29, 2025
+ The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 22, 2025
+ This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day)
+ The format is expected to be enter hybrid

Compensation & Benefits
+ The hourly rate range is $17.63 to $27.21 (the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
