Position: Summer Art & Creativity Specialist (Seasonal) (June - August) $18.50/hr - $21.75/hr
Location: Camp Fowler, Orefield, PA

Essential Functions of the Summer Art & Creativity Specialist:
- Writes detailed lesson plans that include clear outcomes and objectives aligned with the camp's vision, mission, and applicable academic standards, ensuring each program supports holistic wellness and educational goals.
- Art Program Development: Plan, prepare, and facilitate creative art activities and projects for campers of various age groups, ensuring projects are accessible, engaging, and educational.
- Safety and Supervision: Ensure a safe and respectful environment by monitoring camper behavior, supervising all art-related activities, and adhering to Camp Fowler's safety policies.
- Inventory Management: Maintain and organize art supplies, order materials as needed, and work within budget constraints.
- Camp Spirit and Engagement: Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages artistic exploration, collaboration, and creativity.
Minimal Qualifications for the Summer Art & Creativity Specialist:
- Experience working with youth in an arts or educational setting.
- Strong skills in a variety of art forms (painting, drawing, sculpture, etc.) and the ability to teach art techniques to children.
- Demonstrated ability to create a positive, engaging, and safe environment for campers.
- CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain prior to the start of camp.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Previous experience as an art instructor, camp counselor, or youth leader in a camp or educational setting.
- Familiarity with inclusive and adaptive art practices that encourage participation from campers of all backgrounds and abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of camp staff.
Physical Requirements for the Summer Art & Creativity Specialist:
- Capacity to work long hours in various weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and rain, while maintaining energy and enthusiasm. X Constant.
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. X Occasionally.
- Walking, hiking, and movement across the camp's 43-acre property, which includes uneven terrain, wooded areas, and hills, multiple times a day. X Constant.
- Willingness and ability to participate in and demonstrate camp activities, such as hiking, swimming, team-building exercises, and other outdoor activities. X Constant.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds, which may include supplies, equipment, or assisting with setting up activities. X Occasionally.
- Capacity to perform basic first aid and CPR, including kneeling, bending, and other physical movements required in emergency situations. X Constantly.
- Ability to navigate stairs. X Constantly.
