About the Job
Orangewood Christian School is seeking dedicated and flexible Substitute Teachers who are passionate about education and committed to the values and mission of a Christian learning environment. Substitute Teachers are responsible for managing classroom instruction, maintaining a positive learning environment, and implementing lesson plans provided by the regular teacher.
The Substitute Teacher is a position requiring a calling to use God-given talents to further the Kingdom of God. The Substitute Teacher is expected to be a minister to the OCS community through actions, speech, attitude, and prayer, as they point students to Christ.
Key Responsibilities:- Instruction: Deliver lesson plans and instructional materials left by the regular teacher, ensuring continuity of learning and adherence to the school's educational standards.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning. Implement established classroom routines and procedures.
- Student Engagement: Foster a supportive and encouraging atmosphere for all students. Promote active participation and respectful interaction among students.
- Communication: Collaborate with school staff and administration as necessary. Provide feedback to the regular teacher regarding student progress and any issues encountered.
- Professional Conduct: Uphold the values and mission of [School Name]. Demonstrate professionalism in interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a teaching or substitute teaching role is preferred.
- Certification: Teaching certification or substitute teaching permit as required by state regulations.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom settings and grade levels.
