Position Description:
Responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating the safety and occupational health component of personnel, materials, equipment, and environments to achieve safety effectiveness for E-J Electric T&D. Assist the Director of Safety, Project Managers, Project Superintendents and craft personnel to promote and ensure safe work practices and conditions.

Position Description:
Responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating the safety and occupational health component of personnel, materials, equipment, and environments to achieve safety effectiveness for E-J Electric T&D. Assist the Director of Safety, Project Managers, Project Superintendents and craft personnel to promote and ensure safe work practices and conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with new hire general safety orientation
- Coordinates, conducts and documents safety meetings and on-site safety audits
- Assists Safety Director in preparing safety policies and procedures; provides support in implementing these policies and procedures
- Ensures that federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules are observed
- Monitors activities where accidents could occur, halting any operation or activity that constitutes an imminent hazard to personnel or equipment and implements best practices
- Provides safety technical support and education for supervisors and employees. Provides feedback to encourage learning
- Promotes proactive and preventive safety activities by observing, analyzing, encouraging safe work behaviors and correcting unsafe conditions
- Integrates safety into project plans by establishing safety goals, reinforcing safety policies and procedures.
- Monitors safety compliance, creating awareness and set priorities that focus on continuous safety improvement
- Works with Operations Managers, Project Managers, Superintendents to develop, implement and monitor annual comprehensive Safety Plans
- Leads, coordinates and documents incident investigations to include a detailed RCA, sharing of lessons learned, communicating next steps and tracking associated action items
- Monitors safety compliance, creating awareness and set priorities that focus on continuous safety and DOT improvement
- Project work will be a Substation located in Fredricks County, Maryland
- Working knowledge of 29 CFR OSHA 1926 Construction Industry Regulations & subpart V.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word
- Proven communication, organizational, presentation and analytical skills
- Confined Space knowledge
- Excavations / Civil work Standards knowledge
- Transmission & Distribution system knowledge
- Management / Training experience in Transmission & Distribution
- Degree / Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health. Role in the Utility field or Construction Management preferred, related field equivalent experience will be considered
- CSP or CUSP
- OSHA 510, 500
