System One is currently seeking a Substation Control Designer on a 3 year contract position located in Birmingham, AL. 

Substation Control Designer Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for the Company’s Transmission and Distribution Substations design.
• Provide engineering drawings, specifications, and material requirements for substation projects emphasizing safety, quality, scheduling, and costs. 
• Make safety a top priority using a safety first mentality.
• Be highly productive with exceptional quality on design packages.
• Providing technical expertise, and guidance for inexperienced design personnel.
• Supporting Substation Field Services, Project Management, and other project stakeholders.
• Coordinating and communicating with associated departments.
• Supporting the Company’s design criteria and standardization effort providing support for storm restoration efforts.

Substation Control Designer Requirements: 

• 5-7 years of related experience
• An accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or an associate degree.
• Basic discipline knowledge.
• Understanding of Control Design tools and applications (AutoCAD Electrical, TEAMS, Stomps, SCST Vault, Maximo)
• Requires approximately 25% travel
