If you share our determination to drive the transition to a low-carbon future, then this could be the job for you. We are currently seeking a Subsea Systems Engineer reporting directly to the Delivery Manager, to join our team based in Houston, Texas.
Purpose:
- Delivering a technical system solution to meet customer project requirements, whilst maximizing execution efficiency and cost effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with Company Specifications, Industry Standards, design rules, internal procedures and project requirements
- Accountable for the accuracy and integrity of technical deliverables on the project and managing associated interfaces.
- Role will include close liaison with client engineering team and client information management systems plus operating procedures.
Duties:
- Act in full compliance with core values and foundational beliefs and show proactive leadership in HSE and quality.
- Deliver a technical system solution to meet customer project requirements, whilst maximizing execution efficiency and cost effectiveness. Drive innovative solutions to improve Project economics
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (API/ISO) operators standards, internal procedures and project requirements
- Provide technical leadership to a multi-disciplined engineering team with minimal little to no supervision
- Create and review engineering deliverable documents
- Ensure all project technical interfaces (internal and external) are identified and successfully managed
- Act as Technical focal point to the customer for assigned project. Co-ordinate technical meetings with Customer, Suppliers and Contractors as required..
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration across the project team
- Develop and align project engineering execution plans (Cost Time Resources, Document Register, Interface Register, Schedule etc.) and continuously monitor to ensure engineering scope is delivered to plan
- Participate in Safety Reviews/HAZOP, Environmental Impact Assessments and Risk Assessments
- Attend Factory Acceptance Site Integration Tests of new equipment on Contractor's premises; Including but not limited to XT’s, Distribution Systems, Umbilicals, HPUs, MCS’s
- Actively engage with project team to drive decisions and resolve any technical issues
- Pro-actively address any Project non-conformances to ensure robust preventive actions are implemented and lessons learnt shared
- Network effectively with other functions and counterparts in other Regional Business Units to actively share knowledge and lessons learnt
Requirements:
- Minimum of Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Systems Engineering with more than 10 years of relevant subsea hardware and controls engineering experience including minimum 5-yrs experience in subsea control system engineering associated with deepwater and shallow water offshore developments
- Experience with contributing to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation, including system engineering plans, requirements specifications, and interface control documents
- Familiar with U.S. and international industry standards, design codes and practices for offshore and subsea systems.
- Experience with the design of hydraulic powered systems, communications system (FO and Cu), electrical power distribution, subsea connection systems plus chemical injection systems.
- Provide studies and guidance in the expansion, fault finding and life extension of existing subsea control system assets
- Working knowledge of Subsea Production systems and the tie-in to Topsides processing.
- Must have good communication, writing, and presentation skills, and an excellent work ethic and work attitude; organizational skills a must.
- Have knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to resolve crucial issues and/or unique conditions.
- Must interpret, organize, execute, and coordinates assignments. Must also be a team player.
