Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Subcontracts Program Manager to join our growing team. Reporting to the SVP of Programs, the Subcontracts Program Manager will provide leadership to significant subcontracts for a large system of systems space vehicle and ground station programs. The selected candidate will work closely with the program team to ensure subcontractors are meeting the cost, schedule and technical requirements as defined in their subcontracts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate multidisciplinary team efforts necessary to ensure subcontractors meet objectives
- Interface with the suppliers ongoing programs and projects
- Negotiate subcontracts with suppliers, ensuring appropriate terms and conditions, payment schedule, performance, term liability and delivery
- Oversee the supervision of personnel, which includes selection, work allocation, training, development, and problem resolution
- Motivate, coach, and mentor employees to achieve peak productivity and performance
- Create and implement successful procurement plans which proactively address risk and provide a high degree of confidence supporting contract deliverable requirements
- Support all milestone program reviews both internally and customer-facing, including leading dry-runs and rehearsals to ensure critical executive feedback, is received
- Monitor supplier schedule progress, cost performance, and risks monthly and prepare monthly program financial reports for management review
- Develop accurate presentations and reports to support internal management and customer reviews
- Develop, track and report visual metrics, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); react to metrics by identifying and solving problems, making improvements, and advancing process control
- Assist with business opportunities across other business units as requested
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred) in management, engineering or related technical discipline
- 10+ years of work experience in the aerospace industry or similar high-technology systems
- Experience as a responsible Subcontracts Manager or Program Manager on aerospace projects
- Understands aerospace, spacecraft and payload development programs and has relationships with primes and subcontractors
- Understands contracts, business law, and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and apply the concepts and principles, including knowledge of cost accounting principles and finance
- Proven success in managing projects through production material control/scheduling, engineering principles
- Ability to help organize and manage a team of personnel, develop program schedules, and control budgets to meet required deadlines
- Ability to mentor, guide, and grow skills of the subcontracts management team
- Ability to read technical publications and communicate across organizational levels
- Must have a practical interpretation and knowledge of US trade regulations and ITAR regulations
- Ability of the applicant to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
Additional Differentiators
- 5+ years of experience as a responsible Systems Engineer on spaceflight projects
- Experience with government customers and their project management practices
- Concept-to-launch experience with one or more satellite missions
- Experience with cost and budget-constrained programs
- An active TS/SCI Security Clearance
- Experience with aerospace environments (other than traditional, large prime contractors)
- Understanding of satellites, space sensors, and ground systems used for space assets

Salary Range $140,000-$175,000

Physical Demands
An employee must meet the physical demands described to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. In performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to sit or stand for long durations of time, in addition to bending, reaching, and walking. The job operates in a professional office environment but in a manufacturing company. This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners.
