Summary: Under general direction, incumbent manages the compliance operations of the Districts student enrollment and average daily membership (ADM). Incumbent supervises the registration center and student records staff, to include determining workloads, establishing work schedules, monitoring work performance, and providing training. In addition, incumbent completes comprehensive and complex financial and administrative reports, and provides support with special projects for Business Services.
Essential Functions:
- Oversees the average daily membership (ADM) funding to include reviewing practices and recommending procedural changes, develops and maintains reports, develops training materials and presents to District staff on procedures to maximize student average daily membership. Reviews and analyzes ADM reports to verify information and make necessary changes.
- Develops and oversees procedures for collecting and auditing student enrollment and absence data for the purpose of meeting state reporting requirements. Reconciles student accounting reports and provides direction for corrective actions to include the ability to implement or change procedures. Analyzes and prepares student enrollment reports. Works with and communicates with the MIS Department regarding technical specifications for application development.
- Develops and oversees procedures for student registration to include new students and transferring students. Manages the centralized registration center as well as the online registration program.
- Oversees the process for maintaining permanent student records and ensuring compliance with state requirements.
- Provides support to the Assistant Superintendant of Business Services on special projects and technical services of a financial nature for the District. Performs research studies, feasibility studies, needs assessments, cost/benefit analyses, and management studies.
- Establishes and maintains positive contacts and relationships with other governmental and public agency representatives regarding student data and other job related areas.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. In addition,
- High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) prior to being hired;
- Three years working with major student data management system;
- Experience and knowledge of the Arizona Department of Education Student Data Reporting and business rules;
- Valid Arizona Department of Transportation Drivers License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
It is preferred that applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.
- Bachelors degree in Business or Public Administration or a related field.
- Accounting or budget experience, preferably in public school district finance;
