Who We Are:
The Intelligent Systems Division develops automated solutions for commercial and government clients in multiple domains including transportation (traffic management, connected automated vehicle), manufacturing robotics, medical prognostics, and communication standards.
Objectives of this Role:
- The Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) group has an opportunity for a student intern to join and grow with our team.
- Applying Theory to Practice: Apply your passion for cybersecurity and solving problems to advance the cutting edge of security solutions for embedded devices.
- Work with small teams to test the security of embedded systems and identify best practices in cyber security.
- Development is typically in Python, C, C++, and/or some assembly on Windows, Linux, or custom operating systems.
- Co-op or year-Round Internship available for students local to San Antonio.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Work independently on small teams to investigate cybersecurity vulnerabilities and mitigations.
- Contribute to technical reports, explaining procedures followed, and results found.
- Develop software and test scripts that aid in penetration testing, verification, and validation testing phases.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers on software design and code reviews.

Requirements:
- Must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity (with a focus on embedded devices), Computer Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Computer Science or related degree fields.
- 0 years: Junior or Senior level student with educational background and experience with programming and scripting (e.g., Python, C, C++), and software development life-cycle (design, develop, implementation, debug, and testing).
- Experience or interest in learning: software version control systems such as Git, computer architecture, debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well both individually and as a member of a project team.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
