As a Structured Cable Network Engineer, you will provide essential network services for the Client's Information Technology Division. This role involves troubleshooting, monitoring, engineering, and cabling (Data/Voice) to ensure optimal system performance. You will work with vendors to develop and implement network solutions, draft policies, troubleshoot network issues, analyze capacity, and manage vendor relationships. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of network engineering, telecommunications, and structured cabling, as well as experience with large-scale networks.

This role involves troubleshooting, monitoring, engineering, and cabling (Data/Voice) to ensure optimal system performance. You will work with vendors to develop and implement network solutions, draft policies, troubleshoot network issues, analyze capacity, and manage vendor relationships. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of network engineering, telecommunications, and structured cabling, as well as experience with large-scale networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide troubleshooting, monitoring, and engineering support for data and voice network systems.
- Design, implement, and improve network and voice cabling infrastructures.
- Collaborate with vendors to develop solutions, manage support agreements, and resolve issues.
- Evaluate network performance and optimize system functionality.
- Develop and enforce policies, guidelines, and best practices for network and telecommunications.
- Manage vendor relationships and validate billing for network services.
- Coordinate network installations, migrations, and support for multi-site networks.
- Perform inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of deployed data communications systems.
- Document networking technologies, topologies, and trends for future enhancements.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external clients, providing clear updates and solutions.
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
- Proven experience in data and telecommunications installation, testing, and inspection.
- Strong background in installing, maintaining, and supporting multi-site networks.
- Proficiency in wireline and wireless technologies, including Fiber optics, T1, DS-3, MPLS, 5G, VoIP, TCP/IP, UDP, and ICMP.
- Familiarity with networking tools such as Fluke Versiv with light meter, netAlly AirCheck G3, netAlly nXG, iperf3, nmap, Wireshark, and traceroute.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Word, Excel, and Visio.
- Experience with LAN, WAN, WAP, Cradlepoint/NetCloud, and adherence to cabling standards.
- Knowledge of IP networking concepts such as subnetting and routing.
- Ability to test and troubleshoot copper and fiber cabling systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for customer interactions and reporting.
