Full Job Description

Tyler Reinforcing LLC is seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in determining project costs and ensuring that our projects are both competitive and profitable. You will be responsible for evaluating project requirements, preparing accurate estimates, and communicating effectively with customers and team members. This role is essential in helping us meet the reinforcing steel needs of the Southwest.

With state-of-the-art fabrication shops located in Phoenix, AZ, and El Paso, TX, we have the capacity and geographic reach to handle and service projects of any size. Our commitment to quality, precision, and customer satisfaction sets us apart in the industry, ensuring that every project is completed to the highest standards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Analyze requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to understand project scope and specifications.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment for rebar fabrication projects.
Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide accurate and competitive estimates.
Collaborate with project managers and fabrication teams to ensure estimates align with project requirements and timelines.
Maintain and update records of estimates, project costs, and other relevant data.
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
Assist in the preparation of project proposals and bids.
Monitor and track project costs and compare them against estimates to ensure financial accuracy.
Provide support in negotiating contracts and managing client relationships.

The ideal candidate should possess:

3+ years of solid experience in estimating, preferably in the Steel, Misc. Steels and structural steel industry.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
Ability to determine the best needs for projects and accounts, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness in all estimates.
Proficiency in using estimating software and tools. Experience with 3D drawings and Revit preferred.
Rebar detailing experience is a plus, but not required.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
Ability to pass a background and screening test prior to employment.
Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus!
