Structural Steel Drafter - Spherion

Spherion Staffing is looking for the right person to fill the role of Structural Steel Drafter. The Structural Steel Drafter will produce detailed architectural plans using SDS2 and/or AutoCad software programs. This person will draw rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings and structures, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data. Qualified applicants should have an Associate's degree, 1 plus years of structural steel experience and SDS2 & Tekla experience.

Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
Pay: $22-25/hour DOE

Responsibilities:
-Make final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another and relation of various parts to whole structure or project
-Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences to complete drawings
-Make any adjustments or changes necessary
-Draw finished designs from sketches and blueprints
-Use computer assisted drafting equipment and software

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

-Proficiency in SDS2 and/or AutoCad software
-Familiarity with structural steel, rebar, and miscellaneous metal blueprints
-2 year drafting technology degree
-At least 2 years of steel fabrication or construction experience
-Detail orientated, accurate, and thorough
