Structural Project Engineer I
Position Highlights:
Stewart has been in the Raleigh market since 1994 providing high-quality structural engineering services.
The Project Engineer role is a key position within the team internally and externally. In this position, while working under the supervision of a Manager or Project Manager, you will be afforded a great range of responsibilities and strong professional development opportunities within the practice. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of building types including education, healthcare, institutions, municipalities, commercial, aviation, faith based and more. You will help mentor and utilize Engineering Interns and collaborate with Revit Managers for the completion of the projects. You will also meet and collaborate with clients. Position Responsibilities:
In this exciting new role, you will be working with a team to bring high quality design to life. This position will involve all aspects of structural engineering building design working on awesome projects with the best clients. You will be responsible for:
- Analysis and design of building's structural gravity and lateral systems with and in coordination of more senior engineers and in accordance with current code requirements and accepted engineering standards using both manual and computer methods.
- Interfacing and communicating with clients and other professionals, including coordination of drawings with architects and other consultants.
- Providing REVIT assistance on projects
- Completing QA/QC prior to submitting to manager or project manager.
- Performing Construction Administration related duties such as site visits, review shop drawings, and respond to RFIs. Assists in the development of technical solutions for field issues.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering from ABET accredited University, required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License or Structural Engineer (SE) License required.
- 5 years of experience in the design and preparation of construction documents of building structural systems.
- Excellent written and communication skills for coordinating and collaborating with a variety of professionals.
- Thorough knowledge of structural engineering principles and methods required to plan, design, and detail the structural systems of buildings and other structures.
- Knowledge of local, state, national building and material codes.
- Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, Blue Beam, and other relevant software.
- Proficient use in the use of RAM, RISA, and ETABS and other analysis and design software
- REVIT modeling software skills preferred.
- Driver's License preferred.
