About the Job
The successful candidate will be able to independently manage structural engineering projects using mature judgement and effective communication. This individual must be willing to mentor, train and oversee junior engineering staff with an emphasis of creating well-rounded engineers. The candidate will be client-focused while managing team members, project budgets, schedules, and deliverables. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects are essential for success. Responsibilities: * Independently manage and execute building design projects * Lead, mentor and develop Junior Engineers * Make independent engineering decisions as a Project Manager * Communicate effectively with architects, clients and other engineers * Perform detailed structural design for commercial buildings * Develop and prepare structural plans, details, specifications and calculations * Adhere to project budget, schedules and deliverable requirements Qualifications: * 5-10 years of experience in the design of residential and/or commercial buildings * Bachelor"s degree in Civil (Structural) or Architectural Engineering * Professional or Structural Engineering License * Familiarity with the International Building Code * Experience designing with steel, concrete, masonry and/or wood * Experience working directly with architectural clients * Experience with RAM, RISA 3D, ETABS, Tedds and/or TSD software * Valid driver"s license Preferred Qualifications: * 7+ years of experience in the design of commercial buildings * 2+ years of experience in a Project Management role * Master"s Degree (structural focus) from an accredited university * Experience with post-tensioned concrete design and/or heavy timber * Experience designing buildings in Colorado"s Front Range area * Experience with scheduling and budgeting engineering projects
