About the Job
We have an immediate need for Structural PE in the East Tampa, FL area. Structural professional engineer position plans, evaluates and designs civil and structural applications and assembles project teams. The position is responsible for organizing highly complex activities for the design, development, implementation, and execution of engineering projects.
Required:
- Professional Structural Engineering License in at least one state, preferably FL
- NCEES credentials to obtain professional license reciprocity in other states.
- Experience in phosphate, chemical, petrochemical, refinery, and/or process industries.
- A recognized degree in engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 5 years experience.
- Ability to manage individuals to attain quality, cost and schedule objectives.
- Experience with working on projects in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong deliverable focus, ability to plan the work.
- A high degree of understanding of interdisciplinary dependencies related to the discipline
- Good understanding of procurement, contracting and commissioning methodologies.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Well-developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills

Job Details:
- Have a clear understanding of the project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and
schedule. - Develop the man-hour budgets required to perform all structural engineering work based on required deliverables and time based functions.
- Develop the structural work plan for project scope of work.
- Develop and maintain the projects scope of work documentation (Facilities Description) and revise as required during the design evolution.
- Manage and review the development of the Engineering Work Packages associated with all deliverables and time-based functions.
- Prepare, review, and approve the discipline and layout design criteria documents.
- Prepare, review, and approve the discipline engineering and design standards.
- Define the system requirements to achieve the project results and monitor effectiveness.
- Represent the practice in the projects engineering coordination meetings.
- Schedule, coordinate and participate in discipline design reviews.
- Coordinate and participate in milestone reviews.
- Ensure coordination of all activities, between the discipline and other practices, is being performed as the design evolves.
- Participate in the reviews of project documentation and drawings.
- Report any deviations from the baseline scope of work raising Change Orders where and
when required. - Collaborate with the clients representatives to ensure full, appropriate communication and coordination in the achievement of the project objectives.
- Fabrication and construction inspection as required and as necessary to fulfill project quality objectives.
