STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES is seeking an experienced Civil / Structural Engineer to join our team. This position will focus on supporting our nationwide assessment and repair engineering division and the home office location is flexible.
Collectively, the STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES group of companies is the largest concrete specialty concrete repair contractor in the United States. Our integrated investigate-design-build teams identify problems, create repair solutions and implement repair projects for owners in the industrial and power generation markets.
At STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES, we spend our time working with our fully-integrated repair companies to perform field investigations and develop repair solutions for existing structures and buildings. This position will be a role that requires broad knowledge of how structures are designed and behave, including: construction and deterioration mechanisms for concrete structures; marine and waterfront structures; water-retaining structures, vaults and pits; general geotechnical knowledge; and structural steel construction.
Position Requirements:
· Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE)
· 7+ years of applicable experience
· Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering
· Master’s or PhD degree in civil or structural engineering a plus
· Enthusiasm and curiosity for solving problems and understanding how things work
· Solid understanding of how structures behave
· Ability to travel and work in the field, both locally and outside the local area
· Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
· Strong focus on working safely in a variety of challenging environments
Responsibilities:
· Lead on-site investigation teams
· Manage engineering projects internally, including teams of engineers, drafters and technicians
· Interface with both internal and external clients
· Analyze field data to facilitate problem solving and repair design
· Perform and review analyses using a combination of hand calculations and finite element analysis software
· Be responsible for preparation of client deliverables, including construction drawings, specifications, and written reports
Preferred Skills and Certifications
· Experience with managing systematic inspection programs for facility and utility owners
· Experience with Finite Element Analysis Software such as SAP2000, RISA3D, or similar
· Experience with AutoCAD, Revit or other BIM software
· Active in professional organizations, such as ASCE, ACI, AMPP, SEI, ICRI
· High-quality technical writing and communication
