Introduction:

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on investigating structural failures and assessing damage to buildings and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to analyze and interpret complex structural issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analysis and Reporting: Analyze structural systems and failure mechanisms using engineering principles and forensic techniques. Prepare comprehensive and accurate reports detailing findings, conclusions, and recommendations for repair or remediation.
• Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with clients, contractors, and legal teams to provide expert opinions and testimony in legal proceedings related to structural failures. Collaborate with other engineering professionals, architects, and project managers to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the structural issues.

• Forensic Investigation: Conduct detailed inspections and investigations of structural failures, damage, and defects in buildings and infrastructure. Perform thorough site assessments to identify potential causes of structural issues and collect relevant evidence.

• Technical Expertise: Utilize advanced tools and software for structural analysis, modeling, and simulation. Stay current with industry standards, codes, and best practices in forensic engineering.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that all forensic investigations and analyses are conducted in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain meticulous documentation of all investigative processes and findings.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or additional certification in forensic engineering would be a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of (5) years of experience in structural engineering with a focus and/or an interest in forensic analysis and investigation.
• Licenses/Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Additional certifications in forensic engineering or related areas are a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software and tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Close vision, and color vision ability required
• Safely and effectively lifting, carrying, and moving objects of varying weights
• Bending, stooping, reaching, balancing, standing, and walking for extended periods and maintaining the necessary physical dexterity and coordination
• Working in various environmental conditions, which may include exposure to varying temperatures, and noise levels at times
