Structural Engineer - PE - 0535-D - Design Systems, Inc.

Skills and Experience:

• Licensed Professional Structural Engineer with strong technical background in structural engineering, codes, design, detail, and specification writing.
• Thorough understanding of, and ability to calculate static, and dynamic loads including fluid, seismic, wind, and snow.
• Ability to design structural elements considering static and dynamic loads.
• Project engineering.
• Collaborative spirit / effective project team member.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Excellent computer skills (refer to software requirements).
• Comfortable working in manufacturing and warehouse environments.

Position Duties:

• Work in collaboration with engineering and construction professional services personnel to ensure that project goals are met.
• Travel to project sites to attend meetings, field check existing conditions, review new installations, and oversee new installations.
• Analyze / evaluate existing steel, concrete, and block structures.
• Engineer / design structural steel supports for mechanical piping systems, process ventilation systems, equipment, conveyors, bridge cranes, service rails, tool rail systems, etc.
• Engineer / design mezzanines, platforms, catwalks, ramps, stairs, ladders, handrail, guardrail, etc.
• Engineer / design concrete slabs, equipment foundations, pits, trenches, curbs, block structures, wall openings, etc.
• Oversee structural engineering, design, and detail.
• Review contractor submittals for compliance with contract documents.
• Mentor / teach others.
• Stamp / seal structural engineering / design drawings and associated documentation.

• Navisworks (preferred)

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree
