We're seeking a dynamic and skilled Structural Engineer-In-Training to join our innovative team. As a Structural Engineer-In-Training, you'll embark on a journey of growth under senior engineering supervision. From learning basic principles to handling specialized assignments, you'll gain valuable experience in structural design, materials, and software programs.
What You'll Do
- Learn and adhere to our firm's structural CAD and/or REVIT drafting standards for consistent, high-quality drawings.
- Perform drafting tasks accurately and efficiently, including project setup, plan drafting, and revisions.
- Gain knowledge in foundational building elements and perform design calculations under senior staff guidance.
- Execute structural calculations for wood, steel, concrete, and masonry elements, contributing to building engineering.
- Master engineering software like Enercalc, Risa, and RAM for precise analysis.
- Familiarize yourself with industry codes such as California Building Code and ASCE 7-05 for compliance.
- Collaborate with senior staff across project phases, from Design Development to Construction Administration.
- Understand material catalogs and assist in material selection for projects.
- Develop teamwork skills and cross-discipline coordination with other firm disciplines.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
- 1-2 years as an EIT or equivalent experience preferred.
- Engineering-related part-time/internship experience is a plus.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- Planning to register/apply for Professional Engineer's exam.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Proficient in AutoCAD or REVIT.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Develop drawings with direction from Project Engineer, Supervisor, or Principal.
- Ability to read/interpret construction documents.

Compensation & Benefits
The expected pay range for this role is $28-41 per hour (approx.. $58,240-85,280 per year; must be willing to work in-office 50% of each week). Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, business needs, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
