About the Job
We have an immediate and urgent need for a vibrant Structural Engineer to join our client's Construction Engineering Services team. You'll be an integral part of a growing unit dedicated to supporting every facet of the construction process. From crafting innovative design solutions to ensuring safety protocols, your role will be pivotal in delivering top-notch engineering excellence.
As a Structural Engineer, your responsibilities will span a wide range of design-build tasks, including but not limited to:
- Bridge erection and demolition
- Cofferdam design
- Critical crane lifts
- Erection sequencing and staged construction analysis
- Hoisting and jacking
- Deep foundations and dewatering
- Excavation support
- Marine engineering
- Pile drive analysis
- Soil anchoring design
- Micro/mini/rock-socket piles design
- Falsework design
- Temporary bridge and trestle construction
- Drafting and CAD
- Working surface design
- On-site engineering support
You'll also be tasked with evaluating existing structures for construction loads and demolition planning, conducting structural analyses to ensure stability during temporary conditions, and reviewing calculations and design drawings to meet industry standards and client criteria. Your keen eye for detail will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and accuracy of design deliverables, while also identifying and mitigating potential design risks.
Additionally, you'll play a key role in project management and estimation, providing on-site design engineering support, conducting inspections, and mentoring junior team members.
Here's what we're looking for in our ideal candidate:
- Experience in temporary structures and/or construction engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a Master's degree or higher in Structural Engineering is preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience
- Professional Engineer licensure (PE) or eligibility within the United States
- Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, BlueBeam, Civil 3D, and Finite Element Analysis Software is advantageous
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple project assignments
- Willingness and ability to access all points of a construction site in various climates and environments
