Summary:
We are searching for a qualified Structural Engineer to assist the Senior Analyst with the structural (FEA) and fluid dynamic analysis (CFD) for new and existing hydromechanical components, complete units, and portions of hydraulic systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering; additional experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
- Minimum 2 years experience as an Analytical Engineer in aerospace or a similar industry.
- Experience in aerospace design.
- Direct analytical experience with hydromechanical and/or electromechanical components preferred.
- Experience in finite element analysis (FEA) in ANSYS, MathCAD, Matlab, Easy 5, etc.
- Experience in computational fluid dynamics analysis (CFD) in ANSYS CFX or Fluent.
- Experience in Product Life Management (PLM) Systems and CAD Systems. Direct knowledge in SmarTeam and ProE/Creo preferred.
- Effective time management skills required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including effective communications in English with the ability to explain complex engineering principles in common language.
- Willingness to travel up to 5%
- Due to ITAR requirements, must be a US Citizen, Permanent Resident, asylee or refugee.
Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned tasks in the areas of: structural analysis (FEA), performance analysis, kinematic/dynamic analysis, control system design & analysis, fluid dynamic analysis (CFD), bearing life analysis, spring analysis, fastener analysis, electrical analysis, reliability analysis, and thermal analysis.
- Estimate resources required for proposed projects.
- Document analysis in written reports.
- Prepare and present analysis in design reviews.
- Work with the project team to accomplish tasks within schedule and budget constraints.
- Work efficiently to meet development deadlines.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements.
- Physical demands: May require lifting, pulling, and carrying up to twenty (20) pounds. Standing and/or other active work for up to eight (8) hours per day. Sitting up to eight (8) hours per day, or a combination of sitting and standing.
- Other duties as assigned to ensure customer needs are met.
