We are currently looking to add a Structural Engineer to our team. As a Structural Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities:- Analyze and prepare project designs, calculations and drawings for steel bridges; pre-cast, pre-stressed concrete bridges; cast-in-place flat slabs; and miscellaneous structures, with guidance provided on assigned tasks as required. Prepare engineering reports and contract documents for review.
- Potential to work on complex projects in skewed and curved steel I and U girder bridges, post-tensioned concrete bridges, signature bridge types, construction engineering, erection and demolition analysis, pedestrian facilities with unique detailing, urban bridge replacements with multiple-stakeholder coordination/context sensitive design and seismic design.
- Potential to serve as the Engineer-of-Record on assigned engineering tasks and lead engineering teams of technicians and designers to deliver projects through supervising design and plan production
- Approach tasks with an open mindset; propose innovative solutions to design problems; Problem-solving mentality with the ability to work and do research independently and as part of a team
- Effectively present proposed design solutions as part of internal project meetings to engage principals and solicit input to ensure quality, solve problems and advance projects
- Responsible for managing timely completion of multiple assigned tasks within budget
- Communicate effectively with team members, internal design groups, and external entities including clients, subconsultants, and relevant government agencies
- Adhere to company marketing requirements by providing timely personal resume updates and participating in marketing campaigns and proposal efforts
- Take ownership of personal technical and career development by seeking and providing feedback, seizing opportunities to develop new skills, and setting and pursuing personal goals
- Contribute to the development of other team members through mentorship and modeling positive behaviors
Skills:
- Strong communication skills, verbal/written and ability to engage internal and external teams and entities
- Strong understanding of fundamentals of Structural Analysis, Design and Mechanics
- Proficiency in CAD packages, i.e., MicroStation preferred or AutoCAD
- Knowledge of bridge design software: GDOT Mathcad Package, Bently OpenBridge Designer – LEAP Concrete and Steel, NSBA Simon, Descus, MDX, PGSuper etc.
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis and experience in FEA bridge analysis software: CsiBridge, Midas Civil, Larsa, etc.
- Knowledge of Excel and/or Mathcad
- Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD bridge design specifications
- Knowledge of GDOT Bridge and Structures Design Manual
- Knowledge of construction methods and equipment
- Knowledge of Seismic Design for Bridges

Qualifications:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- Years of Experience: 4+ years
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering
