About the Job
USG Corporation is seeking a Structural Engineer in Chicago, IL with the following requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering or related field or foreign equivalent degree.
10 years of related experience.
Required skills: Analyze and design steel and concrete industrial structures for capital projects, including involvement in site surveys, soil investigations, feed-to-detail stage designing, delivery of issued-for-bid to issued-for-construction stages drawings, resolving site-related queries during construction, and fabrication drawings checks and approval; Assess the existing industrial structures and propose a strengthening and modification solution that serves the plant's requirements, including coordinating with the plant team, handling laser models, checking feasibility, avoiding clashes, offering solutions without interrupting operations, and providing practical solutions; Manage a design team, ensuring proper billability and workload distribution, monitoring performance, reviewing consultants' work, participating in the model review, and coordinating with other disciplines for structural solutions; Conduct analysis & design structures for static and dynamic load conditions, apply finite element analysis, connection design, and spreadsheet development, and handle multiple design software.
