Overview:
As an early career engineer at KPFF, you will contribute to the design, development, and construction of diverse building projects in both the public and private sectors. As a crucial member of our dynamic team, you will play a key role in tasks ranging from foundational research and concept development to supporting the construction of load-bearing structures. Your responsibilities will include providing essential technical assistance, collaborating on design processes, and ensuring the delivery of accurate and concise project documentation.
Who We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structures
- Master's in Structural Engineering is preferred
- EIT Certification
- Proficient in structural engineering software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, SASE) and AutoCAD or Revit
- Knowledgeable in design codes and standards (ACI, AISC, IBC, etc.)
- Strong grasp of structural analysis and design principles
- Detail-oriented with accurate drafting and calculation skills
- Effective verbal and written communication for collaboration and client interactions
- Ability to manage multiple projects, demonstrating strong organizational skills
- Adaptable, with a willingness to learn and stay updated on industry advancements
What You'll Be Doing:
- Bring structures to life through creative and precise structural drawings and calculation packages
- Craft intricate structural models using computer-aided design software like ETABS, SAP 2000 and Revit
- Navigate building codes like a pro to ensure designs meet the code standards and safety requirements
- Work closely with dynamic project teams to map out the ideal load path for innovative building designs
- Conduct field site visits and document observations
- Provide crucial support to project managers, contributing to the development and tracking of work plans and budgets
- Collaborate seamlessly with architects, contractors, and team members to tackle challenges and guarantee project success
