About the Job
Selectek is seeking a veteran Structural Engineer to fill a six-month contract assignment with a partnering company on the east side of Atlanta, Georgia. This firm focuses on large-scale industrial projects, and candidates will be working primarily on building STAAD models.
Employment Type: Contract
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Expected Hourly Pay: $50 - $65, based on experience
This firm offers a hybrid work schedule of two days working from home each week as well.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in structural engineering.
- Excellent knowledge of STAAD and AutoCAD or similar design/visualization programs
- Ideal candidates also know Revit design and have experience designing deep and shallow foundations for buildings, industrial structures, and heavy equipment
In addition to these requirements, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as Selectek is unable to provide sponsorship or work visa documentation.
Job Duties:
- Building STAAD models for large-scale industrial projects
- Develop design concepts through to the detailed design stage
- Design tasks involving load determination, stress analysis, and use of computational software design tools
- Evaluate supplier bids and present findings
- Perform hand calculations, as appropriate
- Coordinate with lead engineers to update models per vendor drawings
