Position: Stress Analysis Engineer (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: ONSITE/Hybrid in Fort Worth, TX
Pay: Up to $65.00 - $85.00 per hour
U.S. Citizenship is required due to program requirements.
GeoLogics is partnering with an aerospace and defense company on an exciting Stress Analysis Engineer opportunity based in Fort Worth, TX. This is a full-time, 12-month contract position with the opportunity for direct-hire employment.
We are seeking a talented and motivated Structural Analyst to join the Dynamic Components Structures group. Dynamic Components Structures is responsible for the structural integrity of the Blades, Rotors, and Transmission/Drive Systems on the next generation of vertical lift aircraft.
The successful candidate will have experience in performing structural FEA in ANSYS, have a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving, have a robust understanding of loading and dynamics in mechanical assemblies, be highly competitive and motivated to take ownership of commitments and meet objectives, and be capable of managing complex tasks and drive them to successful outcomes, and possess excellent communication and technical writing skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform conceptual/preliminary/detailed structural analysis using classical methods and finite element software
- Calculate Margin of Safety and conduct fatigue analysis to determine component retirement time of metallic and composite structures
- Conduct modal/buckling/crack propagation/thermal analysis
- Collaborate with Design, Materials & Process, and Test Engineers, and create structural substantiation reports to support drawing release and certification efforts.
Education and Experience Required:
- U.S. Citizenship
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural analysis (or 3 years with a master's degree)
- Experience with ANSYS
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and engineering software tools.
- Ability to work onsite in Fort Worth, TX
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- 9+ years of experience in helicopter dynamic components structural analysis.
- Experience with CATIA V5
- CFD
- 3DX Development
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
