Daikin's Sourcing Team is growing! Our Sourcing team is directly responsible for ensuring that Daikin and our suppliers acheive cost fairness and meaningful long-term business relationships. To this end, we are hiring a Sourcing Manager II - Central Operations! In this new and exciting position, he or she will interact with our key equipment and service partners to drive long term cost savings and allow Daikin to continue to meet the demand for our products. He or she will proactively manage assigned commodities such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, etc., on a global basis, including identifying/developing strategic supplier relationships with untapped industry leaders. The general emphasis of the position is on procurement/logistics, cost reduction, technology advances and supporting general product development. Location: Plymouth, MN - Hybrid
What you will do:
* Negotiate supply agreements and ensures vendor relations are solid
* Counter price increase demands and prepares strategies for various commodities
* Create opportunities for CIP savings and delivers year over year cost savings
* Act as negotiator when supply deliveries default
* Understand the cost structures of the Supplier base
* Ensure the New Product Introduction (NPI) projects are fully support with Procurement roles
* Lead product development activities with key suppliers
* Identify/develop strategic OEM supplier relationships
* Review bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
* Manage cost reduction programs consistent with McQuay’s business plan
* Confer with Suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
* Select products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items
* Estimate values according to knowledge of market price
* Determine method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid
* Prepare purchase orders or bid requests
* Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
* Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, suppliers, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action

Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree (preferably in Business, Economics, Engineering, or Finance)
* 5 years experience in Procurement or related fields; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Experience with commodities of between $1M & $3M
* Have composed and presented five or more commodity strategies during the last 3 years

* Manufactuing Industry Knowledge
