Job Description:
As a Retail Convenience Store Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success and profitability of our headquarters store. You will be responsible for leading a team of sales associates, deli and kitchen staff and ensuring they successfully exceed their sales, customer service, and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to staff.
- Set and monitor sales targets, KPIs, and other performance metrics for the store.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and maximize profitability.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and operational excellence.
- Monitor inventory levels, manage supply chain processes, and optimize product assortments.
- Ensure that all customers of questionable age have been checked for age verification, and that all alcohol and tobacco sales are made to customers of legal age.
- Complete price surveys and stick readings daily.
- Understand and comply with environmental requirements including stick readings and Veeder- Root systems.
- Lead recruitment, training, and development initiatives.
- Address and resolve customer complaints and operational issues effectively.
- Analyze financial reports, budgeting, and cost control to achieve financial objectives.
- Collaborate with other managers and senior management to align on company-wide strategies.
- Maintain up to date tobacco/liquor certifications per State requirements.
- Merchandise shelves, displays, and coolers.
- Execute store promotions in a timely manner.
- Work cooperatively with sales reps and vendors.
Qualifications:
- Management experience required.
- Experience in the retail or petroleum convenience store industry preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in analyzing financial reports and budgeting.
- Valid driver’s license.
