Leaders must delegate, train, and monitor the progress of all associates and all facets of the hardware
store. The primary responsibilities of in-store management are to manage the sales, expenses, profits,
assets, and team members' personal development to ensure customers are receiving the highest level of
customer service.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of previous retail management experience. We are looking

Ability to lift 60 pounds consistently, stand, and walk for up to 8 hours during shift.
Key Responsibilities:
·
Oversee daily store operations and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
·
Lead and mentor a team of dedicated employees.
·
Manage inventory, sales, and financial performance.
·
Implement strategies to increase store profitability and efficiency.
Manager’s Duties: Customer Service:
·
Ensure all customers are welcomed, their project needs are met, and concerns are resolved quickly.
·
Ensure employees are using the WOW process.
Operations:
·
Maximize sales while controlling expenses.
·
Update the whiteboard with metrics and discuss in huddles.
·
Respond to requests on Teams, from owners, and the office.
·
Enforce safety policies.
·
Handle supply orders, bank deposits, and various services
(UHaul, Paint, Keys, Stihl, Lawnmowers, Grills, Pool water testing, glass and
plexiglass cutting, and online orders).
·
Manage the delivery schedule.
·
Prepare for monthly managers' meetings.
·
Schedule vendors for maintenance (electrical, camera surveillance, floors, forklift, vehicles, building).
·
Work with Epicor for POS.
·
Coordinate with police regarding theft.
·
Ensure signage is up to date.
·
Multitask and make quick decisions.
Inventory:
·
Direct shipping, receiving, and inventory flow for the store.
·
Regulate inventory to reduce shrink, maintain stock levels, and
ensure paperwork accuracy.
·
Keep associates on task and ensure stock is efficiently put up.
·
Prepare transfer sheets.
·
Place orders (Old Castle, BFG, Scott, Berlin Gardens, and SCP
items).
·
Ensure POs are completed in a timely manner, add/create SKUs in
Eagle.
·
Ensure Inventory reports including ICM, Mango, and RIS are completed each month.
·
Ensure end caps are set up and stay stocked by deadlines.
·
Manage backstock.
HR/Payroll:
·
Forecast schedule needs to meet customer demand and create work
schedules.
·
Review and approve time.
·
Coordinate supervision of retail staff to ensure sales goals are
met and procedures are followed accurately.
·
Discuss metrics with managers.
·
Delegate daily workload to meet merchandise and visual
standards.
·
Conduct daily huddles and all-staff store meetings.
·
Communicate important information to staff.
·
Hire, train, and develop retail staff with goals for growth in
their positions.
·
Provide performance feedback in reviews and recognize
accomplishments.
·
Handle raises and terminations, and ensure new employees receive
vests and earpieces.
·
Ensure mechanics have proper training and certification.
·
Encourage participation in Ace’s badge program and training
through ALP.
Qualifications:
·
Proven experience in retail management or a similar role.
·
Strong leadership and communication skills.
·
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple
tasks.
·
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused
mindset.
