About the Job
Awesome Leaders Keep Reading!
If your purpose in life is to be the leadership heartbeat of a great team, let’s talk today!
Responsibilities:
Why Blarney Castle? We’re the heartbeat of retail C-Store operations in Michigan! We’re family-owned and have grown up in Michigan since our founding in 1933. Today we’re delighted to have over 1,400 smart, experienced and fun team members across the state, all with one purpose in mind – building great customer experiences one person at a time. Do you have what it takes to lead our teammates?
Your Role You’re it! You’re fully responsible for the care and inspiration of the team in your store. You’ll teach, coach and develop great team members and actively seek tomorrow’s leaders. You’ll work with the store Assistant Managers closely, so select people well for that position. As you probably know, it’s all about developing the team and helping others achieve their career goals!
You’re also responsible for all the details. Here’s a hint, if you hire, train and develop great people, the details are a lot simpler! Those fun details are meeting store goals and metrics, developing great relationships with our customers and growing the business, the important audit and compliance work that goes with retail operations.
Yes, you’ll probably be in the store on different shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. We suggest looking at it this way, these are great times to really understand the business, your customers and your team. This understanding will help you put together the best game plan for your team.
Do We Have Benefits? You bet! Our team members enjoy insurance programs such as Medical & Prescription coverages, FSA, HSA, Dental, Vision, Short & Long Term Disability, Life Insurances, Hospitalization, Accident and Critical Illness. We also offer 401(k) with company match, PTO, Tuition Assistance Programs, Employee Assistance Plan, Identity Theft Protection, and Home Heating Discounts.
Your Skills You probably have a High School diploma or equivalent and maybe even a great combination of some college credits and great experience. Either will do! We’d like to see at least five years of progressively responsible retail experience, but if you can demonstrate your awesome leadership, relationship-building and coaching skills, great skills with technology, and that sense of drive and purpose that comes with an awesome leader, that’s helpful. We’re also going to look closely at your ability to communicate throughout the time we get to know one another. One last note, you’ll need reliable transportation and valid current auto insurance in order to perform some leader roles.
