Ben Bridge Jeweler's store in Alderwood Mall is seeking an Assistant Store Manager. Our ideal candidate will have fine jewelry and/or watch sales experience, or other luxury sales experience.

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager with hiring, training, developing and coaching store Sales Associates. Operates as Manager of the store in Store Manager’s absence. Oversees prioritization of daily tasks in the store. This position role models operating procedures in the daily business.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports the store manager in hiring new talent by reviewing applications, scheduling, screening and interviewing candidates
- Trains new hires in store procedures and company policies. Provides feedback to new associate on selling techniques.
- Collaborates with store manager to help coach and develop store associates in selling, new procedures and growth opportunities
- Prioritizes daily retail operations of the store and assigns tasks. May help with staffing schedules.
- Participation store meetings, Salesfloor expectations and standards, and payroll tasks
- Provides first response to difficult associate and/or customer interactions, and oversees discounts in Store Manager’s absence.
- Cultivates an in-depth knowledge of products to provide the best experience for the customer. Ensures all store associates are well informed on the Ben Bridge history, strategy, brand and culture
- Leads by example by following store expectations and adhering to company policies and procedures
- Works with teammates towards store goals, creating a positive working atmosphere, and supporting each other to combine individual strengths to enhance team performance
- Facilitates the updates to the visual merchandising and store displays. Ensures all displays are completed per marketing department’s standards.
- Organizes and maintains the back office and storage space in the store
- Ensures maintaining accurate inventory of all merchandise and merchandise security
- Functions as a Keyholder with responsibilities for opening and closing store. Available for afterhours maintenance
- Some travel required
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- 3 or more years’ experience in selling or customer service
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in training, coaching, development or hiring
- High School diploma or equivalent. Advanced Degree is preferred.
- Proficiency in technology (CRM Platform, MS Office - Outlook, Word, Excel)
Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum AJP or earn within first year of employment
- GIA certifications or equivalent certifications are preferred
- Bilingual is a plus
- Flexibility with work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Strong communication (written, verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Provides an outstanding customer experience and handle escalated customer challenges
- Flexibility to work with a variety of personalities
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to brainstorm and problem-solve with a cross section of functional teams
- Develop selling skills in team members to achieve store goals
- Experience with business acumen and key performance indicators
WORKING STANDARDS
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds may be required
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist and stand for long periods of time
- Shift times will vary
Range: $22.74 - $27.31 per hour + monthly sales bonus
Fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience levels, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
The full-time schedule is designed to provide flex staffing during key events and peak selling times. As a full-time associate, you will be eligible for health and welfare benefits in addition to sales bonus, monthly incentives and SPIFFs. Other benefits include employee merchandise discounts, paid training and paid time off, such as: vacation, holidays, bereavement and jury duty. Paid training includes certification from the Gemological Institute of America (following completion of one year service time).
