Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Thorough understanding of storage technologies
- Designs, implements, and manages storage subsystems
- Maintain the organization’s Distributed File System (DFS) servers.
- Provide storage and data management for Cloud and on-premise storage subsystems. This includes the storage lifecycle including configuration, data at rest encryption, maintenance of disk and disk subsystems, compliance, security, capacity management, performance, utilization cost management, and reporting elements.
- Monitor and manage storage components, identifying when storage capacity decreases below defined thresholds for the specific device, and take corrective actions (coordinate adding additional storage capacity).
- Proactively monitor for a high availability configuration for critical applications and production servers supporting continued operation if either data center were lost.
- Coordinate maintenance activities associated with server and storage platforms. This includes coordination with Contractor and third-party maintenance providers to troubleshoot server hardware, replace faulty device components, and provide on-site support, where appropriate.
- Responsible for storage performance analysis and troubleshooting storage capacity management and planning.

Qualifications
Basic Qualification:
- U.S. Citizen
- An active SECRET or the ability to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree with 8 – 11 years, master’s degree with 6 - 9 years, or PhD with 3 - 6 years; four (4) years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to do what is needed to achieve learning goals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle pressure.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate with individuals at many different levels from within and from outside of the organization.
