SALARY RANGE: $60,000-$75,000 PER YEAR
Job Description:At Casa Cipriani, the Stewarding Manager will be responsible for maintaining impeccable cleanliness and hygiene standards in our culinary and food service areas. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead a team effectively. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Stewarding Manager to oversee and manage our stewarding department.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:
- Supervise, train, and motivate the stewarding team to ensure optimal performance while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and track attendance, time-off requests, and overtime to ensure compliance with labor regulations.
- Develop, manage, and optimize daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for the stewarding team, ensuring appropriate coverage and task allocation.
- Create and implement efficient procedures for dishwashing, cleaning, and waste disposal.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, always ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Coordinate with procurement to source and purchase stewarding supplies within budget constraints.
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain high cleanliness and hygiene standards in all food service areas.
- Adherence to DOH guidelines and continuous property maintenance is imperative, ensuring readiness for inspections at any moment.
- Collaborate with kitchen and dining room staff to optimize workflow and facilitate seamless operations.
- Communicate effectively with other department heads and management to address cross-functional issues.
- Provide ongoing training to stewarding staff on proper cleaning techniques, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
- Identify opportunities for skill development and career growth within the stewarding team.
Qualifications:
- Education: A bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field is often preferred.
- Work experience: Proven experience as a Stewarding Manager or in a similar supervisory role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a restaurant or hotel setting.
- Customer service skills: Proficiency in Spanish is essential to effectively communicate with a diverse team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with kitchen, dining, and other staff members.
- Technical skills: Proficient in utilizing computer systems and software relevant to stewarding operations like Microsoft Office for efficient management of stewarding processes.
- Organizational skills: The ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain attention to detail is crucial.
- Problem-solving skills: The ability to analyze and resolve guest complaints, resolve conflicts, and make decisions under pressure is necessary.
- Leadership and teamwork: A strong ability to work collaboratively with other departments, such as front office, housekeeping, and food and beverage, is essential.
- Professionalism and integrity: A professional demeanor, strong ethical standards, and the ability to maintain confidential information is expected.
- Have familiarity with inventory management and procurement processes.
- Refined verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field requirement.
- Ability to work overnight, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull items up to 40 pounds.
