About the Job
Summary/ Objectives: To maintain an orderly dishwashing area and to coordinate with fellow employees an efficient flow of dishes, silver, glass, etc. through the dishwasher machine.
Essential Functions:
- Wash all dishes, glassware, and silver, making sure that they are properly sanitized. Report to Management of the Restaurant when machine is not operating properly.
- Wash all dirty pots and pans used by the kitchen staff.
- Make sure that the temperature of the water for washing and rinsing is above minimum at all times, and advise Management immediately when temperature drops below the minimum expected temperature of water.
- Keep entire dishwashing area, machine and racks clean and neat at all times. Make sure that entire area is cleaned prior to each change of shift.
- Empty and wash all rubbish cans and see that liners are replaced.
- See that dumpster area is kept clean at all times.
- Stock all china and glassware properly and carefully so that they can be picked up easily by service personnel.
- Keep the entire floor area in the kitchen clean at all times.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position.
Minimum Requirements:
No experience required, on the job training.
Ability to read and comprehend labels and chemicals
