About the Job
We are seeking a hardworking and dependable Steward to join our kitchen team. The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and equipment, and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for all staff.
Responsibilities:
- Wash and sanitize all dishes, utensils, glassware, and kitchen equipment following proper procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing area, sinks, and dish racks.
- Ensure garbage and recycling are emptied regularly and properly disposed of.
- Assist with basic kitchen cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning kitchen surfaces.
- Maintain proper storage and organization of cleaned items.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.
- Support kitchen staff by ensuring clean equipment is readily available during service.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with additional tasks as assigned by the kitchen manager or chef.
Requirements:
- No prior experience required; training will be provided.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
