Key Responsibilities
- Function as a vital part of the OR team by cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment.
- Guarantee that all surgical instruments and trays are properly sterilized and ready for use in procedures.
- Uphold strict sterile practices to safeguard patient safety and enhance procedure efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with surgical staff, nurses, and other sterile processing team members to provide top-notch support.
- Manage the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments.
- Address and report any issues with instrument functionality or equipment malfunctions.
- Comply with all hospital policies and standards pertaining to sterile processing and infection control.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required; additional technical training or education is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and sterile processing equipment is crucial.
- Must be flexible with scheduling, including availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
- We welcome candidates with a Provisional CRCST, indicating successful exam completion, and prefer those fully certified.
