Job Details
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Project Manager with a strong background in steel erection and/or steel fabrication to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects involving structural steel, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Management:
Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Coordinate all phases of construction, including pre-construction planning, execution, and project closeout.
Team Coordination:
Manage and lead project teams, including engineers, subcontractors, fabricators, and site supervisors.
Foster effective communication between stakeholders, including clients, design teams, and suppliers.
Site Oversight:
Monitor daily operations on construction sites to ensure alignment with project plans.
Address and resolve on-site challenges or issues promptly.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Ensure all projects meet quality standards and adhere to local building codes and regulations.
Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance with design specifications.
Safety Management:
Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
Conduct safety audits and ensure adherence to OSHA standards.
Budget and Cost Control:
Monitor project budgets, manage expenditures, and control costs.
Prepare and present progress reports, forecasts, and financial summaries to stakeholders.
Vendor and Contract Management:
Oversee procurement of materials and ensure timely delivery.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in steel erection, steel fabrication, or related construction sectors.
Proven track record of successfully delivering structural steel projects.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of structural steel design, fabrication, and erection processes.
Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore).
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
Certifications (Preferred):
PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification.
OSHA 30-Hour Certification or equivalent safety training.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a construction site environment, including exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
Capable of climbing, lifting, and navigating uneven surfaces as needed.
